Master List of Included and Suggested SimBrothel Girls

Right, before I get started I’m curious about something. By a show of hands, who didn’t actually think I’d post anything by today? LOL It’s all right, I don’t blame you; there were times over the last couple of days that I doubted it myself. Whenever I do something like try to step down one of my grossly over-organized lists for comprehension by normal people it really starts to sink in just how … uniquely … my mind really does work. To give you an idea, my master list is a 15 page color-coded document in font size FIVE!, cross-referencing each girl with all the others by source, age, species, ethnicity, family relations, character designer, seiyuu, voice actress, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum. For right now though, all that’s important is who’s on there and whether or not they have pics, which is what I’ve compiled into the lists I’m about to post. Yes, I said ‘lists’, as in plural, because I just can’t do anything the simple way. No, not really, I just thought it might be beneficial to show it from two different perspectives: which characters do and do not have sufficient pics as yet and which characters have been suggested or submitted from each particular anime, manga or video game.

There are a few things to keep in mind when perusing the following lists. First, I’ve tried to fix as many of the names of pre-existing girls as I could and include their full names along with any in-universe nicknames if it’s what they’re predominantly known by, although I haven’t gotten to them all yet and I’ve also probably missed a few. Girls with more than one name have them separated by forward slashes. Second, if a girl was renamed during localizing for the American market, I listed her American name first and then tried to include her Japanese name in brackets. The same goes for their sources if the name of the anime, manga or video game itself was changed. And I just couldn’t resist color-coding. LOL The ones that I’ve either looked for pics for or had pics sent to me follow the standard traffic light format, where green indicates that they have all of the primary pics (one glamor shot and three h-pics), yellow indicates that one or more pics are missing but I haven’t given up hope yet and red indicates that I don’t think sufficient pics exist for that girl, or if they do I sure can’t find them anywhere. Girls who were already included in the game are listed in blue and basic black means that I haven’t even started looking yet so who knows what is or isn’t out there.

There are two more lists that I promised to post, but they’re a lot smaller so I’ll deal with them in one go. In fact the first one, a list of girls who still need headshots, is so small it’s nonexistent. *snork* There are 965 girls on the master list and I’ve received maybe 150 headshots but there’s no way I’m typing all that crap out, I’ve done a lot of typing already today and my carpal tunnel syndrome’s starting to get pissy with me about it. Luckily, there’s an easier way to do it: if a girl wasn’t already included in the game and didn’t come from an eroge (h-game), she doesn’t have a headshot, it’s just that simple. So, if anyone out there wants to pretend they work at the DMV and find ‘drivers license photos’ for some of the 800 or so other girls on the list, I’d be much appreciative.

The last one’s mostly for Loup, since he’s our resident eroge-sensei, but anyone else who wants to pitch in can of course feel free. I pointed out many moons ago, after someone brought it up on the other forum, that several of the girls on the list for inclusion came from sources that were (or at least were originally) h-games, and if someone could get their sweaty (at least I hope it’s sweat, eeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww) little hands on those they’d have access to professional quality h-pics straight from the original character designers, which would by definition be better than any fan works we’re going to find online. Even I was surprised though by just how many of these girls came from anime or games that were either overtly adult-oriented or based on something that was. To wit, the 965 girls on the master list come from 278 different sources, of which 31 (110 girls) fall into this category. That’s just over 10% of both girls and sources! Wow.

Now, the hentai anime (Beat Angel Escalayer, Bible Black, Maid in Heaven, Makai Tenshi Jiburiru and Marine a Go Go) aren’t a big deal. A little time spent searching the web and anyone can find those. And Loup has already pulled the necessary pics from about three quarters of the flat out h-games; so far, he’s only missed five and that’s probably just because he didn’t know that any girls from them had been suggested. The part that I found interesting though is that there are seven anime/games that serve as sources of girls which, while not featuring adult content themselves, are adapted from erotic visual novels that did. Oh Joshua, you sneaky bastard, this is what's called a 'failure to communicate'. When you first posted the Ranma girls the pics were all jumbled up and unidentified so I couldn't tell who was who, you'll probably remember that I even asked you about it. When I never got a response on that front I just put it on the back burner and figured I'd make sense of it when I finally got around to searching for more pics of them. It actually wasn't until about five minutes ago when I looked up the original post that I realized you might not have said anything to me but you did go back and label the pics so that any moron could tell who was who. Any moron that clicked the spoiler tag again to look at pics they'd already seen, that is. LOL

The explanation for the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's girls is a little more prosaic. You posted them while things were still a lot crazier than normal for me and when I finally had the chance I just skimmed the posts and added them to the list before I'd had a chance to even look at the pics. I've done so now though and they, along with the Ranma girls, have been updated appropriately.

Yah, that's happened to me a few times too. One thing... for the head shots. What size do you want them modified to? 80X80 was standard, but a lot of those pick got really grainy. Just something to think about.

An aside: I have 8 new sources to work from... there are at least 40 girls.... one of which... is a nun (I know.. you have your nun quota... but when you see her). Ok. One of the sources may be a minor problem. It has...I think 12 girls in it, unfortunately, while it has English text, the pics are still blurred. That is not the major problem I have... there is a program missing -- the program that keeps the cg's. I have to play and save for each individual girl to get records of the pics. I should post some pics of the girls to see if it is worth the time. One other source is being difficult. These designers, very often, used a single drawing and modified it with close and far shots (original pic is far shot, seeing both bodies in full, focus on one section of picture is the close-up) and whether or not the chars were wearing varying articles of clothing.

My sources are: Casual Romance Club (lots of girls, but blurred body parts), Princess Waltz (limited choices), Totteme Phenomena, Sandwiched Between my Wife and My Sister-in-law (I swear, that is the title... only 2 girls in this source but they can work together), Moero Downhill Night Racing 1 & 2 (The nun I mentioned is in 1... and 2 has 2 different sets of menage-a-trois sources and one 4sum set), Figures of Happiness (I have yet to get all the scenarios, so I don't have all the pis.. it is complicated. But one of the girls is an angel of death... and very hot.), and Private Nurse (2 definite girls in there and one who MAY scratch through... a doctor... I know... again?)

I forgot... in Tottemo Phenomena, 2 of the characters are witches (well... one is... the two women are two versions of the same person who was magically split in 2 while traveling from planet to planet, but that's unimportant). The "younger" of the 2 witches (the one who developed a spell to cease the aging process) has the ability to modify her size, and there is one pic of her "giving head" to the protagonist in.... for lack of a better word... tinkerbell mode. Yes... in her smaller form, she is about 4 inches tall and has the same kind of wings Tinkerbell has.

Yah, trust me, I'm well aware of the graininess problem. To be honest, I'm not terribly impressed with most of the headshots you've sent with the girls from h-games, but I recognize that they were pretty much the best that could be done with the material at hand. That's the problem with using girls from eroge: since most of the games are practically unknown to anyone except the handful of people who've played them the only source of art is the ingame images, which means cropping headshots from pics that are either too grainy, too small, at odd angles, or some combination of the three. As for size, I don't have a clue as yet except to say that slightly larger than the original 80x80 shouldn't be a problem and might actually be preferable. In my admittedly somewhat halfassed attempt at mocking up what the various screens might look like I've tried to leave as much room as possible for the art, typically resulting in more space than was initially available across the board. And of course, larger images that have been shrunk slightly look a lot better than smaller images that have been enlarged.

As stated, a few more nuns and/or angels is a good thing and I'm always on the lookout for niche-fillers like nurses, etc. Most of the rest of them I know nothing about (Casual Romance Club is pretty much just a generic bunch of high school girls, right?) but some of the character designs in Princess Waltz are really cool, I'm especially looking forward to seeing those.

Roux Luka: While all the pictures I could find were done by the same artist and weren't of terrible quality, I'm not sure if they'd be usable. I'll include them in the next package, as well.

Anyway, I guess I should get back to image searching. The amount of time I normally get to do that, even, has remained dramatically reduced since my dad's STILL living here (I could probably tolerate my brother in the same room, but not either of my parents). Also, since I guess the display picture dimensions are now up for formal discussion, I'll put that part of my picture updating on hold for now.

It’s called raw determination and it comes standard with the OCD package. I check every conceivable source, no matter how unlikely, including full-color h-doujinshi that might have pics that could be edited, and even then I don’t give up on a girl until I’ve scanned through about 25 pages worth of results from Google Image Search with the family filter off too. Trust me, it’s not for the faint of heart.

Maybe so, maybe not, I honestly don’t know. I’ve got a couple of pics of dubious quality that were sent to me by someone or other but I haven’t looked yet myself to see if I can find more or better ones. This is actually true of a lot of the girls in yellow, if someone sends me a pic or two then I consider the process started but I’ve been so busy with other stuff that I haven’t had the time to perform my usual exhaustive analysis.

Hokay, the deal here is this: I mentioned that someone had suggested Roll from MegaMan. Someone else asked which one. I responded with something incredibly eloquent like “huh? ” because I knew nothing about MegaMan and didn’t even realize there was more than one. A few explanations and some obligatory research later I decided to add all three to the list and on the off chance enough pics of them all can be found we can decide which one we want to include. I haven’t unleashed the hounds myself yet and all I’ve been sent thus far are a few pics of the MegaMan 8 version of the standard Roll. She still looks really young in them, but not necessarily any more so than some of the others, you know?

Oh, and an amusing aside, apropos of nothing: If you’re into MegaMan (and maybe even if you aren’t), you should check out the live action movie. It’s fan-made, but obviously made by a fan with access to some pretty good movie-making resources, if perhaps not an overlarge budget, sort of like the animated Touhou episode you can find on YouTube. Some girls are in yellow because I’ve been sent a pic or two. Some because I found a great glamour shot. Some because I’ve been sent a ton of pics and haven’t sorted through them all yet. And some because I’ve found enough pics that would be acceptable once someone does some serious editing to them. Each of the girls mentioned here are in the last category. Once I have the time to devote to it I can make enough pics of each acceptable, but there’s so much else that needs doing and is a higher priority that I figure I can deal with that later.

There are certain niches in the game that need filling by a certain number of girls of a certain sort and we have the bare minimum at least for most of them. But I want the girls we include to be there because we want them there, not because they’re all that we could find. We need 12 nuns, 12 valkyries and 12 angels and we currently have 12 nuns, 13 valkyries and 11 angels (plus several more of each that we may or may not – probably not – find enough pics of) so yeah, technically one more angel is all we need but I’d still rather have 20 of each and be able to pick and choose the best than to be stuck with those particular 12 because we stopped looking for more once we’d found them. Does that make sense? As for the angel, I admit to playing fast and loose with the definition for a couple of them but they at least need to look like angels or else what’s the point? People not familiar with the character in question won’t be able to tell the difference between them and any other girl without us beating them over the head with it. So the main question is this: does she have wings? Halos are good too, but the wings are the important part.

My point was just that the girls from that particular game are kind of … ordinary. Not that there’s anything wrong with ordinary but if it comes down to a choice between two girls for inclusion I’ll pick extraordinary over ordinary any day. You’re absolutely right, it certainly can’t hurt to have them in case we need to bulk up the numbers but I’m still a lot more interested in the Princess Waltz girls out of the ones you mentioned.

On to other things, like quality of pics. First thing we gotta talk about is the fact that blowing up small pics will only give you bigger versions of the screw ups from the small picture. So all the headshots would have to be redone. We just need to find a good size. Here are some samples I just threw together. These are a remake of a headshot for Professor Cherry... uh.. I mean Chieri. First shot is original (for those wondering, it is 233X233), then original reduced to 120X120, original reduced to 100X100, original reduced to 80X80, and last 80X80 expanded to 100X100 (just to illustrate the problems).



Well... shit. I just figured out my biggest problem. I am resizing, not re-sampling. The following is an 80X80 re-sampled from the original. I also made a 100X100 and a 120X120 to give you some choices.



Looking at them side by side... resizing gives you crisp picture with jagged lines. Resampling gives you fine lines with the pic a little out of focus. Hmmmm... I will have to think about this.

Okay, you lost me. Last I checked cod had fins just like all the other fish. Octopus have tentacles but since The Little Mermaid is Western in origin Ursula would be right out anyway.

By the way, there is a Japanese version of The Little Mermaid, and it even came out about a decade and a half (14 years, to be exact) before the Disney version. But the Sea Witch isn't an octopus, she's a manta ray and she's fuckin' scary!! *nods*

No they're not, at least not as brothel workers. Basically, P'fil and Cham Fau happened because I was looking for more fairies to include and ran across their names (I was only marginally aware of Bondage Fairies as a concept and had never even heard of Aura Battler Dunbine at the time). I lucked out with P'fil because I found that full-color story I mentioned earlier and was able to edit the pics to make the guy look human and remove the sense of scale. Cham Fau on the other hand has two h-pics on the entire internet that I could find and in each one she's rather obviously approximately penis-sized, which is why her folder still just has a really nice glamour shot in it.

Ahh, gotcha. That's another one that I haven't done any research on yet and since the earliest FF game I've played is VII I'm unfamiliar with the character. I did see a pic of her/it/whatever from Dissidia but didn't realize those yellow snappy snarly things were actually part of her. That one might not work then, although since our girls are actually analogous characters native to the SimBro world I guess we could also just edit out the yellow snappy snarly things. *shrug* Gotta go to work now, but we'll figure out what to do with her, one way or the other.
