Species of swallow? Weight distribution? Wind speed? Altitude? Temperature? Physical condition?
The question, itself, is poorly constructed. :/
... Also, for the record, I understood the reference. <.<

You understand the reference and you don't go for the joke?

There are no South African Barn Swallows, I'm afraid, so asking whether the swallow is 'European or South African' would be pointless. :/

It is a reference to a running gag in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Re: chatroom meetings.
If you ever get a chance, rent and watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail... it is one of the most amusing parodies of all time. Monty Python is a British comedy group that started in the late '60's. The one member of the crew I am pretty sure you know is John Cleese, star of such films as A Fish Called Wanda. Monty Python's humor is... to say the least... bawdy. They had a long running TV series (Monty Python's Flying Circus), and did a few other parodies -- MP and The Life of Brian (banned in Scotland... it is a parody of Christ's life... Not Christ himself... just... how people can get a little goofy when they think there is a messiah) and MP and the Meaning of Life. There are also such Python pieces as MP at the Hollywood Bowl... they did a stage performance of a NUMBER of their more popular sketches from Flying Circus.
(In case you didn't notice... I am a serious fan of them... 8-)... )

So, uh... Anyone interesting in trying to get a chat started sometime soon? It's been a while since we've been able to get in touch with each other, and I've been kinda feeling the urge to discuss game-related things as of late.

well assuming we become de facto (im sure we were any way.) then we would need the current game creator fred, since we could get allong with out alsala if he never shows up again.

Re: chatroom meetings.
Karel disappeared for months on a break, once, so I can't say whether or not we've lost Al, especially since I don't know of any way to get into contact with him. It's been almost two months since his last sign-in, so it might still be a little early to write him off as MIA. However, there's still quite a bit that we could try to formulate without him. Getting in contact with Fred shouldn't be too hard, since he checks up on these and the previous forums roughly every two weeks.
I think I mostly wanted just to touch base with everyone, again; to know what we've been doing this whole time. I suppose it could also serve as a means for us to start formulating a Plan B to the game engine, which, with all the uncertainty that this project is now facing, is beginning to seem like a necessary course of action...

Re: chatroom meetings.
Just sent a message to him on this forum and the first (Second? Third? Whichever one I came from...) one. I'm not sure when he'll get back to us, though, so we'll have to wait on that.
